One Visit Porcelain Crowns and Fillings:

Porcelain is the most BIOCOMPATIBLE material to use for dental fillings and crowns, it most closely mimics the properties of enamel and dentine. This means strong and aesthetic/natural looking fillings and crowns. In the past these fillings or crowns required uncomfortable impressions and wearing temporary fillings or crowns, which meant two appointments and waiting for work to come back from the laboratory.

Maven Dental Maryborough now has NEW TECHNOLOGY enabling us to do these porcelain fillings and crowns in one appointment. So if you would like, or need to have these sorts of restorations done for your teeth and would like to do them in one convenient visit call us at Maven Dental Maryborough to see if this is suitable for you. Please download our brochure for more information.

Teeth Whitening or Bleaching:

Tooth whitening is a straight-forward , non-invasive procedure that uses different types of peroxide to whiten the teeth. It can be performed either in the surgery or at home using specially made trays. At Toothworkx, we offer at home whitening procedures. Results can vary from patient to patient, however the majority of cases will have a noticeable lightening of the teeth after treatment.

Crown is a long term restoration of a tooth that has lost a lot of its structure, either through large fillings or fractures of the sides or corners of the tooth. Quite often it is more economical to do a crown earlier in a tooth’s life rather than continuing to refill the tooth. This ensures more tooth structure can be preserved and the tooth is drilled less times.  Crowns are usually required after a Root Canal Filling is done, to strengthen & protect the tooth. It is easy to think of a crown like a “thimble” used for sewing, but it doesn’t increase the size of the tooth as part of the tooth is removed to accommodate the crown. Full porcelain crowns are now available that are very strong & look more lifelike than the porcelain fused to metal crowns used for many years.brids

A dental bridge will span a gap in your smile to give an aesthetically pleasing permanent solution to a missing tooth. Dental bridges can be made of porcelain only (usually only in the front of the mouth), porcelain fused to metal or gold alloy (usually on for back of the mouth where it is not visible).  Impressions are required for the fabrication of the bridge, which is done in a dental laboratory. Whilst this is happening, you will need a temporary bridge for 2 weeks until the permanent one is ready.

Porcelain  Inlays/Onlays:

Sometimes very large old fillings develop cracks or break; this may cause sensitivity to hot and cold or pain when biting. It is now possible to replace lost tooth structure to full form and function, by using strong porcelain fillings known as onlays. After having an onlay done, the teeth look and feel natural and are just as strong as before. For more information please download our brochure or contact our office.
